Mismatch Calculator
(test version)
This program calculates the number of proven mismatches at antigen and allele level between the HLA phenotypes of a patient and a donor.
It comes with absolutely no warranty.

Basic Background:
The program is essentially based on the official WHO nomenclature with WMDA extensions as defined in "Bochtler et al: World Marrow Donor Association guidelines for use of HLA nomenclature and its validation in the data exchange among hematopoietic stem cell donor registries and cord blood banks, Bone Marrow Transplant 39, 2007, p. 737-741" and the websites referenced there. We do not guarantee to always use the latest datasets but this should rarely be relevant in practice.
For alleles without defined serological equivalent the first two digits of the allele codes are used as a "pseudo-antigen". Some rare and unusual serological equivalents mentioned in the dictionary may be ignored, in particular when treating highly ambiguous molecular assignments.
Support:
Please address any HLA related questions to your local experts. If after such consultation you are still pretty sure our program does not behave correctly under the recommended default setting (HvG+GvH and derive serology) you are encouraged to send an email to mmcalc (at) zkrd.de including the result lines and your comments/criticism. (Please be aware that for technical reasons the program may produce intended results which may seem unplausible at first glance.)
Due to scarce resources we do not guarantee a response to every email but will certainly answer those which pointed out real bugs and helped us improve our program.
